About iEQ Pro MX:

 
 

 

iEQ Pro MX is an iOS App which has the following features:

  1. Audio Analyser having Oscilloscope, FFT, Sonogram and 1/3 Octave RTA Bargraph views.
  2. 31 band Graphic EQ which can control the EQ Racks in X/M Air and X/M32 series of consoles, and can also control a group of up to 8 Behringer DEQ2496 EQs via MIDI over WiFi
  3. Auto-EQ function which can automatically adjust the EQ of your sound system to overcome shortfalls of the room in the frequency domain.

The hardware/software requirements are as follows:

To run an X Air, M Air, X32 or M32 Console:

A wireless router and ethernet cable, or use the built in (X Air / M Air only) router ...

Hardware: iPhone 4 or later, or an iPad

Software: iOS10 or later.

To run one or more DEQ2496(s):

Hardware: iPhone 4 or later, iPad, Mac or PC with WiFi and USB and a suitable MIDI interface (ie MIDISport 2 x 2).

Software: iOS10 or later, and installed on the host computer: UMMU Server .

1. 'WiFi Indicator Button' - shows connection status (green = connected to X/M console,
orange = connected to WiFi, red = not connected to WiFi).
Press to open 'WiFi Connection View'.
2. 'Help Button' - press to open 'Help View'.
3. 'Sub-Rack 1 Button' - press to activate sub-rack 1 in the App (where applicable).
4. 'Oscillator Button' - press to open 'Oscillator View' (X32 and M32 only).
5. 'WiFi Status Field' - displays WiFi connection information
(SSID, device type and device IP, when connected to an X/M Air or X/M 32 console).
6. 'Scale Button' - press to open 'Scale View'.
7. 'OSC and MIDI In/Out Status Indicators' - shows incoming and
outgoing OSC and MIDI messages.
8. 'Microphone Button' - press to open 'Input Selection View'.
9. 'Number of Bands to Ignore Button' - press to open 'Number of Bands to Ignore View'.
10. 'Settings Button' - press to open 'Settings View'.
11. 'Offset button' - press to open 'Offset View'.
12. 'Sub-Rack 2 Button' - press to activate sub-rack 2 in the App (where applicable).
13. 'Average Peak Indicator Bar' - displays average peak level for frequency band.
14. 'Recent Peak Indicator Bar' - displays recent peak level for frequency band.
15. 'Actual level Indicator' - displays real-time actual level for frequency band.
16. 'Average Combined Audio Level Indicator Line' - displays average combined audio
level for frequency bands not exclude by 'Number of Bands to Ignore' function.
17. 'Get Button' - in GEQ View press to 'get' EQ settings from console.
18. 'GEQ Slider' - move slider to change EQ Gain for frequency band.
Double-tap (〶) to open large fader view. Long-press (♇) sets all 31 bands of EQ flat (0dB).

'Current EQ Scenario Label' - displays name of current EQ Scenario
that is loaded, or 'Unassigned EQ Scenario' if there are no named scenarios in existence.

20. 'Sonogram Button' - press to show 'Sonogram View'
(only enabled when RTA/GEQ button has 'RTA' highlighted).
21. 'Mute Button' - mutes pass-through to iOS device's internal speaker/headphone output.
22. 'FFT/Scope' button - press to toggle between 'FFT View' and 'Oscilloscope View'
(only available when RTA/GEQ button has 'RTA' highlighted).
23. 'RTA/GEQ Button' - press to toggle between 'RTA View' and 'GEQ View'
24. 'Library Button' - press to show 'Library View', where you can save and load EQ Scenarios.
25. 'Rack Indicator Button' - displays info about current 'Rack' and 'Device'
selected - press to open 'Device/Mode Selection View' to change 'Rack' or 'Device'.
26. 'Curve' Button' (only enabled in PEQ Mode) - press to display 'Curve View'.
27. 'Auto EQ Button' - press to reveal 'Auto EQ Options View'.
28. 'iOS device Input Status Field' - displays which microphone is selected
for frequency analysis (can be an internal, or an external microphone)
29. 'Double-tap available' symbol (〶) - where present, indicates that a double-tap
gesture is available
30. 'Long-press available' symbol (♇) - where present, indicates that a long-press
gesture is available
31. PEQ - Band X1 Pad - controls frequency and gain for Band 1 of parametric EQ. Similarly for other bands
32. 'Flat Button' - sets all bands of parametric EQ 'flat' (ie at 0dB).
33. 'Q Slider Button' - reveals Q Slider for selected band (touch EQ pad to select band).
34. 'PEQ Get Button' - press to get EQ from console.

The WiFi Connecftion View

1. 'SSID Field' - shows SSID of currently connected WiFi Network.
2. 'Target IP Field' - shows IP address of currently connected WiFi destination.
3. 'Device Selection Control' - choose your device type here (Air, 32 or custom).

'UMMU Server IP Field' (DEQ2496 only) - displays the IP address to enter into
your UMMU Server 'IP Address'  Field.

5. 'Dismiss Bar' - swipe right to dismiss the WiFi Connection View.
Any control displaying '>>>' responds to the swipe right gesture.
6. 'Target Send Port Field' - displays target send port for the device type
selected, or allows manual entry of port number, if 'Custom' device selected.
7. 'IP Field' of target console - enter the IP address of the target console here...
8. 'Firmware Revision Field' - displays firmware revision of connected console.
9. 'Device ID Field' - displays device ID of connected console.
10. 'Device Type Field' - displays device type of connected console (XR18, M32 etc).

The Oscillator View

1. 'Oscillator On/Off Switch' - switches oscillator on or off.
2. 'Gain Fader' - controls gain of oscillator
3. Oscillator 1 On/Off Switch and Frequency Fader - control parameters for oscillator 1.

Oscillator 2 On/Off Switch and Frequency Fader - control parameters for oscillator 2. 

5. 'Oscillator Mode Control' - sets mode of oscillators.
6. 'Dismiss Bar' - swipe right to dismiss the Oscillator View.
Any control displaying '>>>' responds to the swipe right gesture.
7. Oscillator 2 frequency field - displays oscillator 2 frequency.
8. Oscillator 1 frequency field - displays oscillator 1 frequency.
9. Oscillator overall gain field - displays overall gain of oscillator.
10. 'Oscillator destination Button' - pressing display drop-down menu of available
destinations for oscillator.

The Fader Scale View

1. 'Scale Slider' - scales the EQ 'curve' about the gain axis.
2. 'Keep Button' - keeps the result of moving the scale slider.
3. 'Dismiss Bar' - swipe right to dismiss the Fader Scale View.
Any control displaying '>>>' responds to the swipe right gesture.
4. 'Revert Button' - reverts to EQ settings prior to moving the scale slider.
